Exposição de Vivienne Westwood na Selfridges

Saiu na Julia Petit, metade do mundo deve ter visto. Foi retweetado pela @sigamelissa, a outra metade do mundo deve ter visto. Por isso não postei aqui, apesar da notícia ter saído inúmeras vezes na mídia internacional. Pra não deixar de comentar o assunto, segue uma reportagem feita por quem já esteve na tal exposição em Londres. Nas poucas fotos dá para ver que a nova Temptation já deu as caras por lá! So, the heel amnesty subsided, and I’m back in the realms of constant burning soles. This unfathomable shoe love most definitely hurts.

The shoes I am most likely to suffer for are my incredibly beautiful gold elevated three strap Vivienne Westwood’s I bought on a particularly flush day 18 months ago. Since the seed of my burgeoning fashion love was sown, I have known and loved Vivienne Westwood, even basing and dedicating my Foundation Art theory paper to her design talent.

As it takes very little to get me over to Selfridges for a good tempt-fest, I was more than happy to walk .8 miles in 4inch heels (in the rain/Oxford St rush hour) yesterday afternoon to go and have a look at the newly launched Vivienne Westwood 1973-2010 shoe exhibition being held in the Ultralounge.

As I knew the exhibition was in conjunction with Melissa I was a little apprehensive that it might be a bit of a rubber fest (not that I don’t love the Vivienne Westwood X Melissa collaboration), but it definitely wasn’t. There was a functionally curated selection of shoes spanning over the last 37 years, including MAN shoes, some of the more obscure designs and a pair of the infamous mock-crock elevated courts that made Naomi topple over.

I left the exhibition feeling elated, inspired and grateful to live in a city where this type of cultural display is on offer for free!

The exhibition will be on display in the basement of Selfridges London until 22nd September.
