According to new statistics obtained exclusively by Relaxnews, Brazilian fashion fans prefer Forever21 over Topshop, black over pink, and heels over sneakers.
Fashiolista, which connects users' favorite clothes with its website via a simple 'love' button, is a Dutch venture but has proved especially popular with the girls from Ipanema.
Data gathered by the site suggests that US retailer Forever21 is the undisputed number one go-to shopping address for Brazilian girls, with the store topping not only the list of 'shops with most loves on items,' but also the list of 'shops with most items added.'
Topshop, Wet Seal, Net-à-Porter, Miss Selfridge, Asos, Zappos, H&M, and New Look also make the top ten of online stores. More surprising choices that prove equally popular include ModCloth, Delia's, Monsoon, and the Asian site, yesstyle.com.
Item rankings don't seem to be as sophisticated as, for instance, Polyvore's yet, but according to the data, Brazilians like to dress in black, then pink, white, blue, red, purple, and lastly neutral colors, also known as 'nudes.' Their favorite piece of clothing is the t-shirt, followed by the dress, then shoes (heels rather than trainers), tops, skirts, and jeans. Interestingly, local plastic shoe brand, Melissa - internationally renowned for its designer collaborations - tops other international fashion brands, such as Chanel, by far.
