The cuteness: It is almost too much to bear. Vivienne Westwood has expanded her Anglomania collaboration with Brazilian plastic-shoe brand Melissa to include wee slingbacks for children. They don't come cheap — a pair will run you $100 — but you do get to feel like you're setting a good example for your little consumer, since all Melissa shoes are sustainably produced (their factory has almost no waste!) and 100% recyclable.
Of course, where there's an eco-friendly baby shoe collaboration involving a British designer, there's got to be a Brooklyn connection. The shoe line launches next Saturday, June 5, at Smith Street boutique Epaulet, which has invited all the neighborhood's parents to stop by between 10am and 2pm for shoe-shopping, coffee, cupcakes, and other treats.
